She started with a series of tweets mocking depression: “UK has seen a 500% growth in anti-depressants since 1991. Like being bullied, being depressed is a fashionable thing to be… The ultimate passport to self-obsession.” A week later, she moved on to dementia: “1 in 4 hospital beds are taken up by someone with dementia.
Ha ha wtf. The guardian interviewing Katie Hopkins. How much did you pay for that?

I don’t understand why this woman is taking seriously, or given any ounce of publicity? For the life of me I can’t figure it out.

Thank you, The Guardian! I enjoyed reading up on KH, as she continues to appear in different news stories, and I knew nothing about her. I couldn't quite finish the long article as I found no genuinely redeeming factors to her character. But thanks for enlightening me!

tl;dr - Katie Hopkins is almost a real person with real issues, who embellishes and sensationalises her (already quite horrible) thoughts to get a reaction from people. Because she doesn't care. The thing is, she adds nothing to any discourse, and should be ignored by all media.

I think she has weird sense of humor. I dont always agree with her but the fact that she doesn't care what others think makes for good conversations if you're not easily offended.
