on July 22, 1922, Kathleen grew up in Parkgate, before becoming a shopkeeper. She met her husband, Austin, at a local pub while dancing and the pair married at Christ Church, Parkgate.
The couple had two children, Noel and Katherine, and enjoyed playing bingo, travelling and ballroom dancing. She later moved to Broadacres Care Home in February 2021. Chris Cousins, home manager at Broadacres Care Home, said: “What a lovely morning it was for all staff and residents to help Kathleen celebrate her amazing 100th birthday, and to welcome the Mayor of Rotherham to Broadacres for drinks and breakfast.”
