Kate Garraway has shared the devastating reality of husband Derek Draper's recovery from coronavirus in a trailer for a new documentary.
When Derek first contracted the virus, he spent 374 days in hospital and was placed in a medically-induced coma. In Kate's upcoming documentary, the Good Morning Britain host shares her journey adjusting to life caring for her husband amid his battle with long-Covid. She tells viewers that he is "in many ways a stranger.
Kate sits with co-star Ben Shephard and tells him: "He is desperately clinging on to the idea that things can get better. If we have a love and he can be a dad to the children in a whole new way, that’s life isn’t it." Richard continues to explain the snippet is "uplifting to see" and then adds: "A long, long way to go but things are moving in the right direction."
