Prince ss Kate and Prince William have shared a joint message this evening and expressed their "incredible sadness".
The Waleses issued a heartfelt message on X, formerly known as Twitter, and said: "Incredibly sad to hear of the news this afternoon from RAF Coningsby," the tweet began. “It is with great sadness that we must confirm the death of an RAF pilot in a tragic accident near RAF Coningsby today," the statement said.
The royal tribute is posted the same day Prince William and eldest son Prince George were spotted at the FA Cup Final this afternoon.
