Photograph: Frazer Harrison/Getty ImagesPhotograph: Frazer Harrison/Getty Imageshy do highly successful women feel they must overpraise spouses who merely do what women do all the time? Kate Winslet is having a “moment” with the television seriesand deservedly so. Still, why did she feel the need to uber-gush about her husband, Edward Abel Smith in a recent? According to Winslet, Abel Smith is a “super-hot, superhuman stay-at-home dad” and an “absolutely extraordinary life partner”.
Wow, maybe people should stayout of her marriage
“Barbara Ellen hates men and forces this on Kate Winslet who doesn’t!” Douche.
Thought the man was Dean Gaffney 🤣🤣
Why are you,Barbara,do pressed what Kate Winslet does? If she wants to thank her partner she damn well can.
Getting some pretty good feedback from this article huh Babs?
How does this get past an editor? No story, no lead for the opinion. It doesn’t even make good clickbait
Incredibly cynical perspective in this article. When a man is praised for parenting and family commitment it’s a lot of eye-rolling and yawns sometimes.
It’s her life. If she wants to praise him, that’s her business. How could you make a news article out of this... and I love the guardian, but this is silly.
Fox piece was funny. Wankers blowing £1 million makes my day.
Miserable, presumptuous article.
A lot of journalists are spending to much time playing with their silly putty.
This is not always the case, but I actually agree with the Guardian in this case. Does Kate seriously think this is some extraordinary achievement: looking after ones own children (with considerable financial wealth)? Oh dear.
Bloody hell, what a shitty outlook Barbara Ellen has.
Parenting is a thankless task, lets take some time to really celebrate good parents of either gender. With job that is worth doing, the thanks comes intrinsically, ie. you hopefully get well adjusted kids to share your life with.
You actually took time out of your life to write this?
Judy Sheindlin (Judge Judy) does this in one of her books. I'm embarrassed for her. I think these women, on their 2nd or 3rd marriages, are worried about the fragile egos of their husbands. It's sad. And disgusting that they feel they have to do that to keep the guys.
It's called a partnership. Why can't one half of a marriage recognise the contribution of the other without some cynical (usually feminist) columnist writing something bitchy about it?
And they ask where cancel culture started? Look no further than op-eds in culture & entertainment sites
Oh screw off guardian writer.
Such a bad take! (1)Let the woman be. You don't know her life and sacrifices around it. Generalising women's experiences is also problematic.(2)If her words normalise the behaviour of stay-at-home dads, that's also positive. (3)It's ok not to write when you have nothing to say.
Wow are you really criticising a woman for comments she made about her partner!? Fairly oppressive i would have thought... Would you criticise a man for the same comments on his wife!? I´m sure Kate really appreciates your feedback on her behaviour ;)
Fuckin hell. How miserable.
