Why was this rushed through without public polling to if we wanted this? No one told us is costing 600 million a year to do this. Most American have never even heard of this lived in deep south.

The problem is that slavery didn't end on that date. Juneteenth is only when slaves in Galveston, Texas found out the civil war ended. Slavery didn't end until 6 months later. That's why it makes no sense to make it a federal holiday
