Trump’s defense attorney Alina Habba requested that Judge Arthur Engoron’s court staff refrain from certain gestures, highlighting the tension between them in the courtroom.
Earlier in the civil fraud trial, Trump posted a photo of Greenfield posing with Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and labeled her ‘Schumer’s girlfriend’. That led to Engoron issuing a limited gag order prohibiting all actors in the case from smearing his staff. Habba’s request put on the record that Trump’s team believes Engoron or his staff may be acting in a biased way.
