Simon Jordan has insisted Liverpool and Manchester City players should give up a proportion of their wages for fans’ travel to Wembley ahead of their FA Cup semi-final in April.
“If the players are so concerned about the fans, why don’t they give up a proportion of their wages and put on a couple of hundred coaches themselves”, Jordan said. Andy Burnham, the mayor of Greater Manchester, and Liverpool mayor Steve Rotheram had both requested that the match was relocated to a venue in the North of England.
“I’ve got to be honest, Jim, I’m tired of these politicians points scoring and virtue-signalling about sport,” Jordan added.

Why is this even an issue? It’s always at Wembley… that’s the point… Plus the FA own the stadium, why would they pay to play somewhere else?!
Why should the players pay, the FA need to stop being greedy and swap the venue to Old Trafford or another local venue, and think of the fans for once instead of lining their pockets

Not every fan still lives in clubs home city. I have supported Chelsea for over 50 years & moved to North Norfolk in 1987 & travel to games from here, involving 12 hour day & 250 miles round trip each time. So some of us do it all the time !! We don’t ask club to pay our costs
