Nathan Jones is on the brink of being sacked after Southampton gave up a 1-0 lead and lost to ten-man Wolves.
However, Southampton couldn’t capitalise, with Wolves equalising through a Jan Bednarek own-goal before taking three points with a late Joao Gomes winner. Last time out Southampton were taken apart 3-0 by Brentford, but losing 2-1 to ten men was arguably just as bad.
Playing the team just above you at home, 1-0 up with a man advantage, to lose from there in the current situation was unforgivable. He was out of his depth, which is about midway up the championship maximum.
The “defending” for both of Wolves’ goals was of comic-capers proportions - sad to see a club with a tradition of producing many fine footballers over the years struggling as badly as they clearly are.

I think he is a classic case of wrong manager at wrong time. Southampton shouldve just went for Dyche. I think if he does go Jones will have some serious reputation building to do again, but I think there is a potentially top manager there in time.
