Snooker legend John Higgins has rallied support for Scotland's national football team as he urged fans to flock to Broadwood Stadium for a Euro 2024 Fan Zone.
While the Cumbernauld ground is a 4000 sell out for the opening Euro 2024 match against Germany on Friday on June 14, there are still seats up for grabs for the potentially pivotal Hungary game, which could propel Scotland into the latter stages of a major tournament for the first time. Higgins MBE, nicknamed the Wishaw Wizard, who clinched the snooker world title in 1998, 2007, 2009, and 2011, was at Broadwood to boost the event, is optimistic about the team's prospects.
"The event at Broadwood sounds fantastic and apart from being over in Germany I can't think of a better way to watch the games along with friends and family. There will be an amazing atmosphere inside the stadium let's hope that this year is our year!" Provost Kenneth Duffy joined Higgins at the promotion, stating: "The Big Game at Broadwood Stadium promises to be an event to remember, whether you're a die-hard sports fan or just looking for a fun day out,".
