When her modelling career was cut short by panic attacks, RealJodieKidd escaped the city to restore her mental wellbeing

Jodie Kidd has braved the popping flashbulbs of Parisian catwalks, raced sports cars at 190mph, and parachuted out of a helicopter, so it’s a surprise to hear her extol the gentle pleasures of life in the British countryside. As she talks to me about muddy walks, vegetable patches, horse rides, fruit-picking trips, and homemade parsnip soup, it’s all so idyllic I can’t help but imagine Laurie Lee ambling between berry-strewn hedgerows, or Pop Larkin tucking into a perfick pork pie.
