, with the BBC coming under fire for dramatising the horror and being accused of ‘hypocrisy’.
‘It’s clearly going to be strange. But they wanted to do it, they’re fully prepared, so it will be interesting,’ he said. ‘The team are working closely with many people whose lives were impacted by Savile to ensure their stories are told with sensitivity and respect.’McKay previously invited the relatives of Myra Hindley and Ian Brady’s victims to witness Maxine Peake and Sean Harris playing the Moors Murderers in a two-part ITV drama in 2016.
‘It will examine the impact his appalling crimes had on his victims and the powerlessness many felt when they tried to raise the alarm.’
Not the BBC making money on a scandal they covered up 🥴🤢
Pathetic unnecessary waste of money
When this on ?
Is this a fucking joke?
Idea for a program...
shewey64 NEXT
moltopopulare does this not sound like a prank show
luv' engerland
Yikes.
🤮
I dunno if that's an awesome idea guys
Wtf! I can't bring myself to read this article 😬
FUCK OFF why are they glorifying a fucking pedo. BBC get in the corner and never come back out
Why. Like genuinely why
Is keir starmer executive producer ?
WHAT
It literally says, 'The victims concerned requested to attend filming.'
Really? Someone thought that was a 'good idea'? I hope the BBC has arranged suitable on-going support for the survivors of his outrageous, often criminal, behaviour. It's hard to think of anything less appropriate.
No this is an alan partridge bit
What’s the worst that could happen…?🤦🏻
Why are they doing this
OMG
Fucking why?
getfiscal this seems like a bad idea
Why
This country is so fucking weird.
Now then now then
UK’s entire society is built upon paedophilia
Is Coogan playing the survivors too? Could be good.
How about we don't give more air time on a story about a raging nonce?
BBC making money from something they covered up for years. I think it’s disgusting that Steve Coogan would agree to meet the victims in full costume & makeup or that they would agree to meeting him either. Makes me wonder why they would. Surely being abused by him was traumatic.
This is absolutely grim, nobody wants this.
i-
‘McKay previously invited the relatives of Myra Hindley and Ian Brady’s victims to witness Maxine Peake and Sean Harris playing the Moors Murderers’ 🤔
sidoisme
Personally, I don’t think it is a story “that needs to be told” in a dramatised way. A much more conclusive documentary, particularly on how so many, including the BBC, turned a blind eye would be much more appropriate but too much at stake I guess…
'Survivors' is a strange word to use. How many did he kill?
Shame on all who knew or had an idea of what Jimmy Savile was doing. Sadly many escaped, justice was not served for the children who suffered at the hands of Savile and many others like him. The truth isn't shared until they die its a big cover up to protect his partners in crime
Bbc should be ashamed of themselves
Well that sounds horrific.
Deanogarratt JonG1981 mattash37
This is a bad idea.
Disgusting 🤢 trust the bbc to make a programme about a child molester that they covered up for for decades and think it’s entertainment 🤬 Steve Coogan should be ashamed even thinking about playing the role of a peado Just wrong
The BBC covered for Savile and now they're making it into entertainment... this isn't about giving the victims a voice, they could that without the theatrics, without bringing Savile 'back to life' 😒 this is about ratings. The BBC should be ashamed
Should never been made. BBC just gets worse.
