Former Manchester United and England centre-back Phil Jones has told the club's new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe what he'd be getting by appointing Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate after the European Championships next month.
Other top options that Ratcliffe can go after are Graham Potter, Roberto De Zerbi and Mauricio Pochettino but is still yet to make a decision on whether to sack Ten Hag or not following his FA Cup final win over Manchester City last month. But Jones believes that if anyone cam cultivate the dressing room after such a tough season at Man United, it'd be Southgate.
"He really does deserve it. I hope that him and Steve, and the rest of the staff, can go out there and get the job done with the lads. I'd love to see them win it this year. There's been an ongoing strategy Gareth has had over the last few years, since he took the job. I remember when he took over, and in his first meeting with the lads, he was showing clips of the World Cup, the actual trophy, and the European trophy too.
