The Irishman says his team control possession but with that can't come a tag of boredom when it comes to their play.

Jim Goodwin doesn't want his Dundee United side to be described as 'boring' after picking up the Scottish Championship Glen's Vodka Manager of the Month for a second consecutive month.

He said: "We want to be a possession-based team but don't want to be boring, we always have a box with four players but attack with six players, get more bodies in the box and encourage more forward runs. We tried to identify those situations where it's on to break lines and you've got to have good players. I'm very fortunate with the squad we've got here at Dundee United.

"It's important we have a balance and when we've attacked we haven't went gung-ho. I think the reaction from players when they give away possession is instant to try and go again.
