Telford and Wrekin Council started the project on Jiggers Bank last summer.

As a result Telford and Wrekin Council said it expected the road at Jiggers Bank to reopen to traffic around Easter.

The work has involved sinking 160 steel ground anchors, 300 tonnes of sprayed concrete, plus steel reinforcement along 200m of the north end of the bank. The council said it had encountered unforeseen deterioration of wall sections and discovered voids and fissures within the bedrock, but this had not affected the timescale.

Councillor Lee Carter, who is responsible for the economy and neighbourhood services, said: "We are reaching the final stretch of this project and so far, all risks have been managed well by our engineers and partners." He said there was still a section to complete and he hoped to have a more accurate finish date by mid-March.
