Jet2, the tour operator and airline that flies out of Manchester Airport , has issued some good news to customers, indicating that the post-pandemic surge in holiday prices is starting to soften ahead of the summer season.
In a recent trading update, Jet2 revealed that bookings for package holidays and flight-only options have increased by 13 per cent and 18 per cent respectively for the summer period compared to this time last year. This news will likely bring hope to consumers that the rise in holiday prices may not be as steep this year as it was last year.
Jet2 has revealed that it has 12.3 per cent more seats available than last year, totalling 17.1 million over the holiday period. The company has already purchased 90 per cent of its fuel for the upcoming season and over 80 per cent for the entire financial year, reducing its vulnerability to potential oil price fluctuations due to Middle East tensions.
