Jay Slater missing: Live updates as desperate search continues in Tenerife for Lancashire teen

After getting lost in a Tenerife national park yesterday, Jay Slater's family and friends said they have 'never been so worried'A desperate search is being made for a Lancashire teenager who disappeared on a trip to Tenerife. Jay Slater made a desperate call to a friend saying he was "in the middle of mountains with nothing around" after a night out and has not been seen since.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office said: "We are supporting the family of a British man who has been reported missing in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities." We will find Jay!!!"On Sunday , Jay had attended the final day of a the three-day NRG festival at the Papagayo Tenerife beach club in the island's south, which was close to his accommodation, reports the Manchester Evening News.He had then reportedly been trying to walk back from the apartment he had stayed at after missing the bus.

Yesterday a regional government helicopter was mobilised but today it’s a Civil Guard helicopter as well as the Greim mountain specialist team. Other emergency services including firefighters have also been mobilised. Everything possible is being done to try to find the missing man."
