Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes there are positives to take from Manchester United preventing the club from winning a possible quadruple.
It was a blow for Liverpool to be knocked out of the FA Cup by their old rivals. “I don’t think there was any way that Liverpool were going to win four trophies. I actually, at the start of the FA Cup run, I wanted Liverpool to get beat that game. Once the game starts, you always want your team to win. The majority of Liverpool’s efforts will go into the Premier League title race and the Reds face a slightly easier schedule than Arsenal and Man City, who are both still competing in the Champions League. Carragher pointed out that the team’s FA Cup exit has slightly eased their congested fixture list, which could give Liverpool a slight boost in the league.
