The TV chef was annoyed that Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue service dropped Fireman Sam as its mascot so decided to identify as an otter. It's not gone well.

declared himself to be ‘an otter’

apparently in protest over Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue service dropping Fireman Sam as their mascot. The move was in a bid to broaden the appeal of becoming a firefighter, but the TV chef feels it’s just ‘PC b******s’.On Twitter he said ‘In a last stand to this outrageous madness I now wish to be known as an Otter.

‘I like other Otters and when you get bored of this c**p in the world join me under water with other Otters, both male and female, and call enough and an end to this madness.’ While he clearly meant an actual otter, he should have run it through Urban Dictionary first, as otter means something entirely different in the gay community.According to the site, an otter is ‘a gay man who is very hairy all over his body, but is smaller in frame and weighs considerably less than a bear’.
