They were delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.

James Cameron has revealed that filming has been completed on Avatar 2, and the team have had a massive head start on Avatar 3, too., but the director confirmed in an interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger, that they had more than caught up.

He revealed: ‘Covid hit us like it hit everybody… We lost about four and a half months of production. ‘As a result of that, we’ve rolled around one more full year for a release in December of 2022. That’s been announced already.‘Now that doesn’t mean I have an extra year to finish the film, because the day we deliver Avatar 2 we’ll just start working on finishing,’ he said in the video conference for the 2020 Austrian World Summit environmental conference.‘So where we are right now, I’m down in New Zealand shooting. We’re shooting the remainder of the live action.

New Zealand has been one of the countries with the fewest coronavirus cases and deaths since the pandemic began, and James admitted he was grateful to shoot there. He added: ‘We made the first film here in New Zealand, and it’s ranked either first or second best country in the world for its Covid response – sometimes Germany’s in the number one spot, sometimes New Zealand’s in the number one spot.‘But we’re actually able to operate. We’re at level two here right now, but we’re able to operate, we’re able to shoot, and we’re able to have a more or less normal life here.

James Bond cast: Will Tom Hardy replace Daniel Craig as 007?JAMES BOND has been played by some incredible British actors - but will Tom Hardy be the next Bond? I hope so not a chance. Barbara Broccoli is smart. They need to move on from the edgy, darker 007 world of Dan Craig and have their 'Roger Moore' period. Nobody better for that than Henry Cavill, who after all was runner up to Craig. He can do the smooth, the action and sell the gags. Best choice for a Bond, ever.
