A man has been jailed after money meant to pay his ailing father’s care home fees was squandered on clothes and takeaway food.

Meppem was questioned but told an investigator: “If my father was able he would give me the money himself.” Mr Jarrott added: “He was acting largely in the best interests of his father, but he didn’t quite understand his guardianship role. He was in over his head.
