A sculpture made out of leeks has perfectly encapsulated Jacob Rees-Mogg ‘vegging out’ in the House of Commons.Jacob ‘Leeks Mogg’ won second prize in a vegetable character competition at Newent Onion Show, in Gloucestershire, this weekend.
It captures the moment Rees-Mogg came under fire from Green Party politician Caroline Lucas, who called his relaxed body language ‘contemptuous of the House’ earlier this month.She continued: ‘He’s spread across three seats, lying out as if it something very boring for him to listen to.’ Today the Leader of the Commons responded to a picture of his vegetable self by tweeting: ‘Thanks shallot.’Mum-of-three Hester said she used leeks to make Rees-Mogg’s body and created the bench out of spring onions pinned into place.
