A woman who has spent £30,000 trying for a baby has said fertility treatment changes would be a "backwards step."
"Becoming a parent on your own is much more common these days, so it's a huge backwards step," she said. Emma Rees, Fertility Network UK's Wales coordinator, said she was "angered and aghast" at the proposals.
It's devastating not to be able to get pregnant, my heart goes out to her and anyone in that position. But, the NHS is meant to help people who are sick and needing medical intervention. I'm sorry but infertility is not an illness. We need to focus on people who really need it.
If you desperately want children but can’t for some reason, there are plenty of children needing adopted and given a loving safe life. IVF should not be provided by the nhs,only life saving treatment.
Why should this be funded on NHS?
It shouldn’t be available on the NHS anyway. It’s not essential. The NHS needs to focus on important things.

Single women shouldn't be able to buy children, and certainly shouldn't get them for free.
IVF should not be available on the NHS, it is not a necessary treatment, if u can’t have a child u just have to accept it, that’s life or pay privately, millions could b saved by not providing unneeded treatment such as IVF & redirected to much needed life threatening treatments.
Young woman need care when there young otherwise it will cost a lot more when there older with problems. Why is it that they carnt see this.

Why should the taxpayer pay for ivf treatment anyway? If you can’t have a child naturally try adopting. The nhs is free for actual illnesses and should not be for unnatural procedures
