Baggio, despite his club-level triumphs, never quite mirrored the same success internationally. However, he did make history as the first Italian to score in three separate World Cups.The match remained goalless even after extra time, leading to a penalty shootout. With the score at 3-2 after nine penalties, Baggio's shot soared over the bar, gifting Brazil the victory.
