The star, who had a hit with the 2000 song It Wasn't Me, isn't the first musician to have his identity used in scams.
Earlier this year, rapper Cardi B shared an email on her Instagram account which had been flagged up to her by a fan and appeared to show a scammer posing as the star. The email asked recipients to donate money towards autism research - however it was sent from an email address using Cardi B's name and was littered with spelling errors and typos.The I Like It singer wrote:"THIS S*** IS FAKE ! FAKE DONATION S***! Ya wild disgusting taking advantage of real kind people who wanna make a change but ya scamming!
