The Israeli embassy in Madrid has accused the Catalan government of using the Holocaust “to promote a political cause”, after its spokeswoman tweeted a quote from Anne Frank alongside a picture of the yellow ribbon worn in solidarity with jailed or exiled regional independence leaders.

“Nothing, but nothing can be compared to the Holocaust.” Really... The Israeli government uses the Holocaust all the time to excuse inappropriate political actions. They don’t own history. Holocaust survivors have been some of the Israeli government’s harshest critics.
Israel needs to separate their religion from their politics. Not all Jews are Israeli, nor do they inherently belong to Israel. Nor does Israel 'own the rights' to the holocaust. It is part of the history of the Jewish people everywhere and humanity.
Is it true that Anne Frank's diary was written in ballpoint pen? Is it also true that ballpoint pens weren't available until the 1950s? Hmm 🤔
