Isonzo's free Caporetto expansion arrives on Xbox today

on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One takes the form of three separate updates spread across the coming months. Each update will add a new map that makes up the full Caporetto offensive, the first of which is available today.Known as both the Battle of Caporetto and the Twelfth Battle of the Isonzo, this offensive saw the German and Austro-Hungarian Empires smash through the Kingdom of Italy's lines between October 24th and November 19th, 1917.

In Isonzo, the Caporetto map will have us battling it out on a wet and blustery autumn day, with the German forces attempting to capture a shelled town, manoeuvre through the Italian's trenches and bunkers on a steep hillside, and culminate their attack on Hill 1114, a strategically important position for the Central Power's advancement through the country.

“Today’s release of part one of the Caporetto season marks the first step in bringing one of the most significant battles of the Italian Front to Isonzo, not to mention the addition of German troops as we promised at launch," creative director and co-founder of the WWI Game Series, Jos Hoebe, said.
