Iraq Covid hospital fire: At least 23 dead after 'oxygen tank explodes'

At least 23 people have been killed in a fire at a hospital treating coronavirus patients in the capital of Iraq, Baghdad.

Iraq's Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi called for an immediate investigation into the causes of what he called a "tragic accident".

Has this what the news has come to? this is petty. If an oxygen tank explodes in Dehli or Israel-will the word 'Covid' be attached again?

This is horrible. Yet the BBC gave it lower billing and less coverage than it did the apparent racist abuse of some footballers in UK, and going bonkers over the death of a US thug.

What do you expect when you have cylinders that have not been hydrostatically tested, have old valves, incorrectly supported and when they move them around they don't use transport caps. Incredibly basic pressurized cylinder precautions.

Covid in the headline? They died in a fire? Or will it be counted as covid because they tested positive? It’s amazing that you’ve not mentioned the people of the 750,000 who protest in London yesterday! 🤷🏻‍♂️ 750,000!!
