Investigation into Deaths at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital

Milly Main died in 2017 after contracting an infection while in the children’s cancer ward at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital . Milly’s death and the deaths of a 73-year-old woman and two other children at the hospital are the subject of a police investigation. Kimberly Darroch, Milly’s mum, has been campaigning for health board officials to be held responsible for deaths at the hospital.

Speaking at a press conference with Milly’s dad, Neil Main and his wife, Collette Main, and Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar, Kimberly spoke of being told about the criminal investigation. She said: “When I found out on Friday it was a bit of an emotional wave. “Shock, disbelief and profound sadness because at the heart of all this, Milly died and she should still be here. She added her family should be “watching her grow up and enjoying life with her but unfortunately, we are here today.
