An urban explorer has visited abandoned Templar House which has been abandoned since its closure in 1990s.
The building in Lady Lane has been in use since 1840. Back then it was used as a Wesleyan Chapel in Leeds city centre. Designed by local architect James Simpson, Templar House was once one of the biggest chapels of its kind in Yorkshire. It later became a United Methodist Chapel before being converted into offices in 1933. Since then, its occupants have included an Army Recruitment Office in the 1940s and vaccum cleaner manufacturers Hoover Ltd in the 50s.In the 1960s it was used for the British Road Services, an unemployment benefit office through the 70s and 80s, and lastly, an Amateur Youth Boxing Club in the early 90s.
Inside is a grand staircase and a larger amount of space. Now left inside is furniture, graffiti covered walls, and falling down ceilings. Urban explorer Kyle Urbex took a look inside and shared what he found. Take a closer look at inside the abandoned building below.
