Coronavirus: Influential study on hydroxychloroquine withdrawn

An influential article that found hydroxychloroquine increases the risk of death in coronavirus patients has been retracted over data concerns.

Surgisphere chief executive Sapan Desai, the study's fourth author, told The Guardian newspaper he would co-operate with an independent audit but said transferring the data would"violate client agreements and confidentiality requirements".Research for the article, published last month in medical journal The Lancet, involved 96,000 coronavirus patients across 671 hospitals worldwide.

This is a bizarre episode.. i suspect this will become recognised as a major malpractice in research.. watch this space

The link doesn't even work, and people are still acting like they're read the article in the tweet replies 🤦‍♂️

No worries there'll be another 'study' along shortly to waste money on, and let's not forget the billions being poured into research, for a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine they'll never find.

McCDick Did I miss the daily covid-19 deaths today or is it not good for your ratings anymore? Legit wondered .

Some sage Corona advice here:

The Lancet medical magazine should be prosecuted for misleading the public.

Read the article folks. It was withdrawn bc of a dispute over patient privacy during 3rd party peer review and not for being a “hoax.”

How many times this drug is on and off for usage?

When self prescribing it turns skin orange, makes your hair thin, makes you argumentative, moronic and a fascist and also makes you advise others (with no clinical training or common sense) to either take it too, drink bleach or use light to rid yourself of disease...

Hold on, are we saying that it might be worth studying as a potential medicine? Its so hard to keep up with MSM

Fake news to discredit the drug just because Trump mentioned it. Madness

The study was pure lies, must investigate why and how this happened.

The plot thickens
