In a bid to reduce our carbon footprint, confront greenwashing and increase our focus on the climate crisis, the Guardian this week announced it will no longer run ads from fossil fuel extractors alongside any of its content in print or online. The move will come into immediate effect, and follows the announcement in October last year that we intend to reduce our net emissions to zero by 2030.

Cos you’re a bit simple.
Kind of laughable since no one (least of all, fossil fuel companies) seems to want to advertise in the Guardian anyway. Otherwise, why all the begging for donations in your online stories?
thank you
But continue to accept adverts to help airbrush the murderous Saud family regime..
The Guardian travel section still has plenty of ads for tours outside of Europe which require long flights. Why is extraction of fossil fuels bad but not use of fossil fuels? They wouldn’t extract it if you stopped using it.
Why not ban adds for goods and services coming from the illegal occupied territory of Gibraltar or Northern Ireland . . . Guess not back to UK hypocrital.crusader feel good mode
So? You also demand and campaign for unlimited 3rd world immigration into 1st world countries, vastly increasing the carbon footprints of the limitless millions you demand we import.
Congratulations, and thank you! The world needs more Guardians
Good. But.. Still taking ads for monster SUVs laughably called 'urban vehicles?' If yes, unclap your back please.
How will your staff be getting to work? Will you turn off the heating in your offices too? Don’t fanny about, stop using any fossil fuels
What percentage of your revenue does this represent?
Effectively you are banning political speech ie free speak. I have fears of climate change but this move also illustrates why Freedom of Speech is 1 in our BofR and why we left your empire
Respect
....to destroy western capitalism?
Thank you. This is important. Kudos to 🤩 We hope other media follow suit. 🙏 Let's dismantle the FossilFuelCartel 💚✊🏼 By2020WeRiseUp KeepItInTheGround
