The mural is one of a number around the world being unveiled as part of the Global Roots Project

Lord Mayor of Belfast Cllr Ryan Murphy was joined by local primary school children and the Lagmore Youth Project as he unveiled a new mural in Páirc Nua Chollan.

"I always feel that if you look at one mural then it tells one story but if you move in close, hopefully the big mural disappears and all you see are the little pictures. The murals being installed in the UK and Ireland represent the elements of including wind, fire, water and spirit with the installation in Belfast representing wind.

"We have some of the young people here today and they have been trying to point out the pieces that they have been involved in. 20 years from now, they might have their own kids and they will be able to come to this wall and point out some of the work that they were involved in. It really shows the creative talent that there is in the city.

Colm Fanning from the Lagmore Youth Project is responsible for bringing the mural to Belfast after he saw a call out on social media for suggestions for a location of one of the murals in Northern Ireland. The Lagmore Youth Project got other youth and community organisations involved alongside the local schools alongside artists from across the world who have designed tiles for the mosaic.
