The billionaire Sports Direct boss is seeking to carry out 'the clear-out to end all clear-outs' at the top of the troubled chain.

In his vision, only Rachel Osborne, the chief financial officer, would keep her position, while Mr Ashley would place himself in the role of Debenhams' chief executive.Publicly, Debenhams restricted itself to careful words about feeling"disappointed".

Debenhams' proposition has always seemed a little hazy - it is famously strong on cosmetics but that isn't enough to sustain an entire department store. That, in turn, reduces the value of other people's shares - Mr Ashley's stake would be hugely diluted. One financier I spoke to said that Mr Ashley had a greater mastery of financial figures than anyone he'd ever met.Image:Mr Ashley bought House of Fraser and decided to bear down on costs and to stock more items that you could also buy in Sports Direct. He's bought the cycle chain Evans, the lingerie firm Agent Provocateur and put in bids for both HMV and Patisserie Valerie. Famous names that he thought were going cheap.

Doctor 'ignored warnings and released mentally ill teen who cut off mom's head'Oliver Machada was found not guilty of decapitating his mother by reason of insanity. Now, his family is suing the doctor that released him from a mental care facility six days prior to the killing. might be hard to prove in court as i think usually these decisions are made by more than one doctor e.g. the therapist, the doctor and probably the warden of the asylum have to agree plus they could argue he showed no signs of trouble to them

The Chase apologise over that ill-timed Keith Flint questionThe Chase viewers were floored by the Keith Flint question. It's pre-recorded🤷🏻‍♀️ they meant to edit it out? By my guess they must go through something like 100-150 questions each show. Checking every one every time a public figure dies seems a bit unnecessary. The coincidence was very unfortunate but highly unlikely. Nobody's head should roll over it.
