Last month, in New York, I saw the future, and I didn’t like it. Let me first set the scene. Booked on an eye-scorchingly early flight, I arrived at Newark airport before dawn, feeling fiercely alone, as I often do when I travel for work: a bagatelle ball, pinging around, unseen by those I love and who love me back. The airport was quiet and I passed through security quickly.

See why there are fewer jobs? The AIs and Computers are taking them away because they don't have to pay AIs nor computers to do the work. Yet the AIs and computers get it wrong 97% of the time. If a human got it wrong they'd be fired. Whose going to fire the AIs?
I'm sick to death of ordering my food and drink via in store apps. I don't want to scan groceries myself, I want human interaction and the feel good factor that my money is going into the pocket of the staff serving me.... Not some fatcat shareholder.
Do people who want this also want to pay an actual living wage too?
Side of cries with that Whine? Get used to it, only going to escalate in the years to come. How about embracing the benefits of new things instead of whining about the good old days? You sound like the drunk at the end of the bar.
I loved all the screen-based restaurants in Tokyo because I didn't have to talk. Helped me both because of the language barrier and my social anxiety.
