Elaine with son, Adam, 36, and daughter, Ellie, 34 In September 2021, Elaine Lynch was enjoying the life of a typical busy mum-of-two. The cancer is made all the more aggressive due to a HER2 mutation, which is incredibly rare, and usually more associated with breast cancer. ‘I had Ellie on the phone at the time, and she was very, very upset,’ says Elaine. ‘I just focused on comforting her. Daughter Ellie and family are fighting for Elaine ‘You just don’t know how to handle what’s coming – but I’m a stubborn Virgo, so I just knew I had to fight.
