Chris reveals what it’s like to spend 10 days in isolation after returning from a work trip in a red-list country

In fact, most meals seem to be served with a box of some leaves or other, no plates are provided. It’s never bad food, it’s just not what I normally eat.

You choose to go on holiday so who cares

Hang on, people in quarantine are having parties with others in their hotel rooms?!! What is the point of it all if the rules aren't going to be enforced!!

I’m simply amazed that more hasn’t been made of the real story in this article: the parties in the room opposite and the hotel’s failure to deal with it.

Hold on. The article also talks about people partying in the hotel. Is this for real? Why are you not reporting on that?

Oh the horror.

University will not be a problem then?

Sorry Molly Blackall, I know Guardian is calling endlessly for hotel quarantine and probably pushed you to find the one guy that is happy while in HQ (probably because his work pays and has an xbox) but this article was absolute crap. NO to hotel quarantines.

I’d just be in my pants, if that for two weeks!

just a year too late to save 1000s of lives! mum's dads brothers sisters nan's granddads relatives & friends! Doctors nurses teachers care worker bus drivers frontline workers from all kinds of trades! Lost as a result of cons incompetence corruption & greed!

Over 1/2 the world would love a sink with running water to wash clothes & themselves in

This article misses the point. The person travelling here was travelling for work. I’m assuming work paid for their hotel quarantine. Pls cld you cover those who can not travel for family emergencies because they cannot afford £1750? loveisnottourism

Did he hold tight n rinse it in the loo?

inoculation passports please. and a PRE board negative covid test on international flights.

For 2 years I washed all me n my partners clothes and bedding in the bath every week coz we couldn't afford a washing machine. FFS it's 10 days to protect against a variant taking hold in the community

Boo fckn hoo,,, Go live on the streets for a while, ya twat

Peter Dutton hits back at WA premier, insisting states had agreed to manage hotel quarantineFederal minister rejects call for commonwealth to make defence facilities available for returned travellers, saying they are too ‘austere’ Only because they knew the Federal Government had no plans at all and someone had to step up and actually do something I love Mark but hotel quarantine issues aside, he could have very easily mandated a rapid test on day 14 for all return travellers. Maybe then we might have caught this new case before the guy left. Day 12 isn’t enough. He didn’t need the federal government to approve that. And The Gov was getting everyone home by Christmas, and everyone vaccinated by October..... Tell your story walking Dutton.... Did the states agree or were they coerced?
