Dele Alli has opened up on why he was relishing the prospect of working under Frank Lampard at Everton - and why he thinks it didn't work for his former manager.
Dele is currently on the sidelines recovering from a groin injury after undergoing surgery earlier this year, and there is no sign of whether the midfielder will feature again for Everton before his contract expires at the end of the season. The 28-year-old appeared as a guest on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football for their coverage of Everton's 6-0 defeat to Chelsea.
Dele then went on to reflect on his decision to join Everton two years ago when Lampard was manager. The England international believes that Lampard had a "tough job" trying to bring success back to Goodison Park. "Obviously, they have had the points deducted, but if they hadn’t and you saw where they were, that highlights the direction the club is going and to see a real identity.
