'I had my daughter in my 40s - and I know why so many women are doing the same'

I had my daughter aged 43 - she is now 11 . We older mothers are often viewed as a curiosity - but there are a lot of us about.

cazroz I am pregnant at 35 and was called and older mother the other day. Am I?!?

cazroz I had mine at 38, the concern is that if you leave it til later + anything goes wrong, you’ve less time to recover. Having said that, a mum is a mum at any age she wishes, and that is a celebration in itself. You’ve got more life experiences behind you for one thing!

cazroz My daughter had her first baby at the age of 49. She's so happy as is the baby & her partner. I'm so happy too - finally I've a grandchild living near me. She is back at work so I am on granny duty now & then - much of her work she can do at home. It's awesome! Not bonkers at all

cazroz People's heads are in the past when ageing was more significant due to harder lives and less education on health and wellness. If women can conceive, why not have much wanted babies

cazroz I had mine at 38 and 41. They keep you young!

cazroz I think it's bonkers, having our children in our 20's was knackering enough, sod doing it in our 40's 😀. But each to their own, if it's right for them, good luck, nothing unnatural in it.

cazroz I don't feel it's unnatural at all. I just don't know where you get the energy and selflessness from 😁 I had mine at 25, she's now 21 and left home. I enjoy spending time with her and we are as close as anything BUT I love my free time too!

cazroz you are as fit as a butchers dog and a great example of a woman who WANTS to bring up a child. Sadly too many younger models have them without wanting them and even less idea how to rear them.

cazroz you're going to be 'managing' a teenager when you're in your 60's ...... good luck with that! .... by the time I hit my 60's, I was too whacked to pick up my socks, much less anyone else's ......

How about it's none of anybody's business but God's? I can't stand men who need medication for their mental problems instead of blurting out their masochistic opinions about women as if they are some authority on conception, and most of these men are ugly and not fit to reproduce

cazroz Because its simply selfish , You will be old enough to be a grandparent age when they are in their twenties ,

cazroz

cazroz Should older woman avoid getting pregnant?

This man tried to mansplain periods to women and people weren’t having itHello, it’s indy100 again, with just another example of a man on the internet telling women how to manage their periods. Sigh. Yes, a man, who (last time we checked) doesn't experience menstruation, Well this person (whos gender is irrelevent) made a point about the fact that they belive the point is over played and that maybe there are solutions to the problem. Other people (whos gender is irrelevent) replied. I wonder if womansplaining would be accepted as a concept? There are people starving in the world and this is what you report on. I mean, he's right. It's not a matter of opinion, it is a fact that you can buy pads for that price. If you have to choose between breakfast and pads then you've wasted your money elsewhere. Gender is irrelevant in a discussion about facts.
