Mr Sharif says the decision to target him goes against the ‘British values of equality and empathy for others’ that he was taught at school.removed his British citizenship, saying it had seen secret intelligence and believed he had links to a group aligned with al-Qaeda.He is appealing against the decision and had until recently been granted anonymity by the Special Immigration Appeals Commission, which he has decided to waive in order to tell his story.

He claims that ISIS tried to blackmail him at one point ‘demanding $50,000’ and they even ‘tried to kill him’.He said the decision to strip him of his citizenship had ‘impacted both upon himself and his family’ but he was not ‘begging to come back’.
