Your headline is very accusing to care homes being to blame. Bed sores can begin before admission due to many causes, self neglect, poor care packages at home or poor health. Malnutriton is sadly common in the elderly frail especially when coming to the last months of life.

PLEASE HEADLINE YOUR STORIES ACCURATELY THESE STATS DO NOT INCLUDE SCOTLAND OR NOTHERN IRELAND SO UK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like home.

USA as well. Moral bankruptcy.

The numbers are going to multiply, Govt needs this to save costs. Less pensioners finance to pay.

Where are their family members?

The real cost of privatization.

I am afraid, when our time to come, they will toss us in the dumpster; the tory got us to this place & still want to leave the EU; what shall we call them, suicidal?

If a person can't turn on their own, the preventative technique is to rotate the individual in bed every two hours putting a soft wedge on each side every other hour. Bony prominence like ankles and heels can be cushioned and also turned every other hour. Decubitus is preventable

Welcome to the Tories UK

Who is carrying out the maintenance and after care for these homes?

It's almost as if hedge funds & corporate investors are only in social care for the profit.

Same in US but it's 45,000 per year. Decubitus ulcers were declared a national emergency this year, but when I worked as a private carer for the aged in their homes in 1999 every single one had deep bed sores. Every single one. They are preventable and the result of lazy carers.

That is horrible!!! 😢😡💔

In Germany many carers come from other European countries like Poland.. oops, did I say the wrong thing?

rufcbilly

Shame ! ..

Unfortunate.
