BBCWorld Christ almighty! Wear your old clothes to “save the planet!”. How long are you going to trot out the dying planet narrative? Tell the news (real news) and stick to it!
stop buying
BBCWorld 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Wow.. it's taken this long to realise.... what a sad world we live in now
It's not so much about making the clothes last longer, because we now live in a materialistic world manufacturers need to sell products to remain in business and keep people employed
'Save the world.'
BBCWorld Evidence for a distant giant planet 9 in the Solar System
BBCWorld That’s simple, buy Patagonia and it lasts a lifetime, if it doesn’t they replace it for free, how can you lose?
I’ve a 24 year old t shirt I still wear. Wore it on Sunday actually.
Give me a break. As a kid clothes would last for years. They reached a synthetic peak plus sturdy cotten. Then outsourcing to slave labour. In the 80s I returned a shirt after two months cause it fell apart. I was told thats normal to keep up to date. Sick Reptile capitalism.
BBCWorld Buy a sewing machine Last time a bought any new item was 20 years ago.
❤️MYAPLANET9
BBCWorld It's a good thing I don't listen to 'experts' and get rid of clothes I've not worn for 20 years! I am back wearing clothes from the '80's in my closet and turning heads!!! They call them 'vintage'; I call them 'me'.
Once again proposed tax for/ passed on to the consumer rather than directly making manufacturers improve & then even when/ if they 'improve' the tax posters will have gone but the increased cost to consumers will remain just as it has with drinks.
I have beautiful dresses from 20 years ago, they even fitted beautiful still 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Wishing it properly by hand
BBCWorld BBC are you so out of touch with the budget conscience Families..?...they have been doing this for years...
Don't wear any a possibility
Wow. Rocket science! Mind blown! 😂😂
BBCWorld I wash in eco-warm and never tumble dry my jeans, t-shirts, sweaters, and fleeces. I hang up bras and other items with elastic. I go through my closets seasonally and if I haven’t worn something I donate it. The result? I have my basic staples for a long time and they look great.
BBCWorld Ehem. Resale.
BBCWorld I was working In Germany when some guys came up with the idea that washing wore clothes out so they only hung them out to air! As office workers they didn't get dirty but the airing out failed to help with another issue. An office strike ended the experiment and the stench
Of course we'll do what we can. But don't try to shift responsibility for climate change & climate action onto individual consumers, that's a con-job we won't fall for.
BBCWorld So can we still call them fast fashion?
BBCWorld Best thing don’t run after fashion too much

BBCWorld Easiest way: Become a nudist.
Stop fad fashions, cut down the amount of new lines and start buying clothes to last. Will save money in long run. However fashion houses will still want their profits.....
BBCWorld A show of hands for all those who have wear the same clothes for 10+ years.
Easy. Ban the fashion industry and let people just wear what they want.
BBCWorld Yaaazz we bringing the early 1900s and early century ideas back! That's what's up!!
bullsh*t! what about walking around naked?
Don’t buy poly blends. Stick to natural fibres. Not man made fibres. I’m sure you all had clothes bubble and fade from primark etc etc. Shop vintage and charity shops.
hemp fiber ?
Is ' last longer ' the fashion ?
I make my clothes, my sister shops the thrifts.
For me it's don't put on weight or lose weight so the clothes always fit.
Any danger of you reporting on the damaging revelations just broadcast outside your Media City BBC? Or the 10,000 people who attended ? As a licence payer I’d like to know why your “talent” is getting drunk on my money while coercing sources! PanoDrama.
I remember breaking my leg n being gutted cos my favourite pair of 2nd hand trousers had to be cut off my leg lol, those were the days.
The environment ends at the Middle Eastern boundaries. There are no environmentalists beyond those.
Like I've said before back in the 70s n well thru into the 80s alot of people still wore 2nd hand clothes n hand me downs were the norm, trousers were up your shins or full of holes before they got replaced, same for shoes, people post thatcher dont know where theyre born.
This is funny - we’ve always made our clothes last / passed on / altered etc. It’s a way of life for many and has been for a long time.
Sigh.. Did anyone bother to check the science?
