is dominated by men and largely filled with figures who supported him in his bid to become Tory party leader – despite some olive branches to his rivals.

Of the 22-full time members of the Cabinet, only six are women – 27 per cent, falling from 35 per cent under Liz Truss. Including ministers who can also attend Cabinet but are not full-time members, just 23 per cent are women. Mr Sunak’s top team is also the first Remainer-majority Cabinet since Brexit – with 17 who voted to Remain in the EU in the 2016 referendum, and 12 who supported Leave. All of the Remainers have since voted in favour of Brexit in the Commons, however., his top team is dominated by people who supported his bid for power – including only four people who backed Boris Johnson for the leadership vacancy, in addition to leadership rival Penny Mordaunt.

While there are several ministers from ethnic minority backgrounds, there are no members of the Cabinet who have publicly identified as LGBT+.
