CONTINUOUS can win the final Classic of the season, the Betfred St Leger Stakes at Doncasterat on Saturday afternoon.
Continuous finally got his head back in front, when easily beating Castle Way and the reopposing and Gregory by three-and-three-quarters-of-a-length and more in the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York last month. That Group Two contest has been an informative guide to the St Leger and is regarded as one of the premier – if not the best – trial for the oldest and longest Classic.
SPYCATCHER can grab victory in the Group Two Betfred Park Stakes . Karl Burke’s five-year-old has been in good form this season, winning twice and finishing second twice. He won a Group Three at Deauville in July and was only beaten a short-head by King Gold in the Group One Arc Prix Maurice de Gheest last time. That form puts him in with a massive chance of another victory down in grade.
Others who can win on Town Moor are Willie Haggas’ LA YAKEL, who has been second and fifth on two starts this season at Ascot, in the PJ Towey Construction Handicap ; the Ben Brookhouse-trained REDHOT WHISPER – who can build on his debut third at Leicester – in the British EBF 40th Anniversary Maiden Stakes ; and PISANELLO – also from the O’Meara stable – in the finale, the Hippo Pro 3 Sealant Handicap .
Andrew Balding’s SEA OF ROSES, can win the opener, the Listed Tote Stand Cup Stakes , on the Roodee. While others who can score at Chester are Iain Jardine’s INNSE GALL in the Camden Hells Handicap ; the Camacho-trained WINGED MESSENGER in the British EBF Ruby Anniversary Restricted Novice Stakes ; and WAY OF LIFE in the finale, the Oktoberfest Race Day 30th September Handicap .
