Honours list features Merseysiders including Chris Boardman

The birthday honours list celebrates the achievements and service of people across the UK, from all walks of life.

This year, a number of locals have received various honours including singer-songwriter Rebecca Ferguson and Michelle Charters, head of the International Slavery Museum. Olympic gold medallist Chris Boardman, from Hoylake, picks up a CBE having been made an MBE in 1992. Former Liverpool player and manager Graeme Souness is made a CBE for services to football and charity.
