A number of homes have been flooded due to the burst water pipe in Trelewis, Merthyr Tydfil.

Residents in Trelewis, Merthyr Tydfil, have been affected, with Trelewis Community Centre offering shelter for those affected.

"The community centre is open and has blankets, food and hot drinks available for anyone affected. Welsh Water have an alert available via their website stating they are hopeful that the water supply will be restored later this evening." “We know that a very small number of properties in the immediate vicinity of the burst have been affected by the water escaping from the damaged main. We are dealing with these residents directly.

"We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused and want to assure customers that we will repair the pipe and restore supplies as quickly as we can.
