Bulwell Academy has explained why so many staff have chosen to leave after it emerged that 172 have moved on in the academic years from 2018/19 to 2022/23. The school has shared an update about its staffing levels and says steps are in place to reduce turnover. Of the 172 staff members who have left, 23 of them signed non-disclosure agreements .
There are currently 136 members of the staff at the school according to the report, which includes 51 teachers with their qualified teacher status and five or fewer who do not have their QTS. Regarding this, a spokesperson for Creative Education Trust, which runs Bulwell Academy, said: “Bulwell is a large academy with just under 140 staff. Our staff are highly skilled and experienced, which means that they are extremely marketable, particularly in the context of a national recruitment crisis in schools.
