A hidden village in Blackpool boasts everything you could dream of...a pub, two churches, a waterfall, rows of charming cottages, a castle, a school and more.
Having not visited a model village since my childhood, I had high hopes - and I was not disappointed. The village is nestled in a corner of Stanley Park, about a 30-minute walk from the beach and adjacent to East Park Drive. I approached it through the park, and I must confess, I was questioning its existence until the very last moment.
With my reliable quiz and pencil in hand, I passed through a gate and began exploring the village. One of the first things that caught me off guard was its size. It brands itself as 'The Biggest Little Village in Lancashire' and you know what? It is quite large. We're not talking enormous, but you definitely can't take it all in with just one look.
The journey takes you across footbridges, alongside waterways and past a waterfall. Among the displays are a fairy glen, a Tudor Market and a farm. I won't reveal all the scenes as I don't want to ruin the surprise, but they're sure to bring a smile to your face.
