Motorists are being warned that the M55 is currently closed in both directions near Preston after cows have made their way onto the road.
The road is currently blocked in both directions between junction 1 for Preston and junction 3 for Kirkham. It has been said that several cows have made their way onto the carriageway. Traffic officers as well as local farmers are working to get the animals back into a nearby field. Anyone using this road is being warned to approach with care because delays are building.
