It's springtime on the farm and Helen Skelton returned to TV tonight with the aptly named Springtime On The Farm.
The programme, broadcast from Cannon Hall Farm in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, has been a mainstay of Channel 5 for several years, flipping between Winter on the Farm and Springtime on the Farm twice a year, and always hosted by former Strictly Come Dancing runner-up Helen Skelton.Tonight, Helen returned to the farm and to TV screens with a slightly eyepopping opening with some lambing, followed by a segment on cows and a cameo from a Yorkshire vet talking about wild tigers.
In another piece, Helen caught up with the sad story of a donkey which lost its foal to a stillbirth.Springtime/Winter On the Farm used to be broadcast live but now the format has been changed for some reason and the programme no longer goes out live. @marleysidTVfan said: "Hate the fact that #SpringtimeOnTheFarm is not live - it just does not have the same feel. I love you @HelenSkelton and @channel5_tv but it’s just not the same."
